An IT employee with 10 years of experience sent me a message last week:
“Dr. Mamoun, I’m afraid I’ll wake up one day and find my organisation no longer needs me.”
I did not tell him: “Don’t worry, everything is fine.”
I told him: “Your worry is valid. But you’re afraid of the wrong thing.”
Who should actually fear?
The employee who should fear is not the one who learns and adapts.
The employee who should fear is the one who decides to wait.
AI will not steal your job directly.
But the employee who works with AI just might.

Learn how to steer the intelligent tools — not how to avoid them. The person who understands what a tool can and cannot do has become rare and valuable.
Make yourself the bridge between the tool and the decision-maker. AI outputs need a human to interpret them in their proper context and translate them into decisions.
The truth that changes everything
Real value is no longer in the person who completes the task.
It is in the person who knows which task is worth doing.
